On suspicion of providing financial support to the civil disobedience campaign against the military junta, the Myanmar military government has confiscated multiple bank accounts held by or connected to George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, and 11 members of the group have been issued arrest warrants.

By putting $5 million into its Myanmar-based bank accounts, the Open Society Foundations allegedly violated “restrictions on such organizations’ activities.” Additionally, $1.4 million in bank account theft is said to have occurred.
